DOHSBase's Journey of Innovation and Excellence towards Occupational Hygiene

Established in 1992 by the Working Group on Limit Values and Measurement Methods of the Dutch Association for Occupational Hygiene (NVvA), DOHSBase has been at the forefront of providing comprehensive occupational hygiene data. Over the decades, we have continually evolved to meet the changing needs of professionals in the field.

1992
Inception

DOHSBase was first published by the NVvA's Working Group on Limit Values and Measurement Methods, marking the beginning of our journey in occupational hygiene.

1994
Second Edition Release

Building on initial success, the second version of DOHSBase was released, incorporating user feedback and expanded data.

1995
Formation of DOHSBase V.O.F.

To ensure the program's continuity and professional growth, members of the original working group established DOHSBase v.o.f., leading to the release of the third version.

1998
Transition to Windows Platform

Embracing technological advancements, DOHSBase 4 was launched for Windows 3.x and higher, enhancing user accessibility and experience.

2000
Introduction of DOHSBase2000

A 32-bit application designed for Windows 95 and later versions, offering improved performance and a modern interface.

2005
Beta Release of Compare Mode

The beta version of the Compare mode was introduced, allowing users to evaluate and compare the risk potential of different substances in workplace environments.

2006
Rebranding to DOHSBase Compare

Reflecting its enhanced capabilities, the program was renamed DOHSBase Compare, with support for multiple languages including English, Dutch, German, French, Norwegian, and Spanish.

2011
Major Database Expansion

The database expanded from approximately 4,600 to over 172,000 substances, encompassing all chemicals recognized under REACH, and introduced versions tailored for both Dutch and international markets.

2017
Shift to Digital Updates

Transitioned from distributing updates via DVDs to promoting digital downloads, streamlining the update process for users.

2018
Establishment of DOHSBase BV

The organizational structure evolved with the formation of DOHSBase BV, positioning the company for future growth.

2019
Launch of DOHSBase Online

Unveiled the online version, enabling users to access DOHSBase from any location with internet connectivity, reflecting our commitment to innovation and user convenience.
